Ignorance of unbelief


1 Timothy 1:12,13… And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Ignorance of the past life – lack of knowledge that can cause the sinner to miss Christ. Missing Christ is the worst of all mistakes in life. The Adamic Nature has to be “melted” by the mercy of God. When the sinful heart is melted the understanding is enlightened just enough to Believe. Belief in a Savior is enough to change the heart forever. The Apostle Paul who was the “chief” of sinners was changed to a holy man of God. No longer was he ignorant. He knew God enough to be faithful to Christ all of his days. Paul obtained God’s mercy.
